Dear friends!
Since we are volunteers, I would like to remind you that today we celebrate the "International Volunteer Day"! So congratulations my EVS friends and other volunteers.
The International Volunteer day was declared by the United Nations on 17th December 1985 with the resolution A/RES/40/212.
Volunteering is a a big social capital. Volunteers are making a big contribution to social wellbeing. I have some interesting information which I recieved from Slovenian Institute of social security.: just in Slovenian non-political organizations in the year 2004 the volunteers have made together 1,3 milion of working hours which in money means 11,9 bilions of Slovenian Tolars (app. 49.583.333 Euros).
