Here we are, still alive... sometimes really sad because of the loss of our pour Jaka, but time heals everything. It's been quite a long time since me and Azra posted on this blog. To be honest we are really enjoying ourselves too much to have the time to write. :) So sometimes it is really hard to keep up to this rythm and time passes by really quickly!!! You will see that many things happened since the last post.
First I would like to give an apologie to everyone from our home country, because we decided to write everything in english from now on. Maybe we will even translate our previous post into English. This is because we would also like our new EVS friends all around Slovakia to follow our experiences during EVS volunteering. We would also invite other EVS volunteers to make their own blogs as this one. It is pretty easy to do it. You just have to sign in.

So, let's start with another prove that we really do work here!!! :) In fact this is just a camuflage... :) Ooooooooh, I'm kidding. Since here in Banska Štiavnica there is a lot of snow in winter and the facilities of the scouthouse are pretty old, we have to make sure that the roof is really clean before snow covers everything.

But because my work was not good enough Azra said: "OOOOOH!!! GIVE THIS BROOM TO ME! I'LL SHOW YOU!". :) I said: "NO PROBLEM DEAR! YOU CAN SWEEP ALL THE ROOF BY YOURSELF! :)".

Another very nice thing happened. The man in shorts is maybe the best oven architect in Slovakia. He also writes books on the subject. The oven you see is his masterpiece and it gives a very warm and nice sight to the old scouthouse. We, especially me enjoy to make fire in it. The wood here in Slovakia is cheaper than oil. It is also very romantic and oldstyle! The architect was just showing us how to manage correctly the oven.

Than it came the time to depart to Modra, the hometown of our mentor Martin. We were guests at his mother's flat were she made a WONDERFULL lunch!!! I really don't miss Slovenian food sometimes. :) But, we've promised to make some Slovenian natioanal dish. Mom, you must send me the recepie for "jota"! :) Aleks from Georgia already made some very nice Georgian dish called "Khinkali". Oh, it was delicious!
Before going to Bratislava and later in Svaty Jur on the "EVS ON ARRIVAL MEETING", we stopped in Modra because a traditional festival was being held. They call it Vinobranie. Of course there was a lot of alcohol here on every corner and the most often you could see different types of "burčiak" or "mušt". In Slovenia we say "mošt". I really don't know how it is in English. Here are some pictures from the festival.

The festival took place during the weekend and on Monday we headed to our next target: Bratislava. I took some pictures there, but we will show them later because we returned there with the other EVS volunteers.

We are now already in Svaty Jur, which is really close to Bratislava. We stayed there from monday till friday (25.9. - 29.9.) because we had an unforgetable EVS on-arrival meeting. This is our very compact group. A very nice thing for men was that the group was mostly built by women. :) Very few men! :) In the group there were volunteers from Germany, France, Finland, Denmark, Bolgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine and even from Brasil and Egipt. And let's not forget: from Slovenia too! :) Here we would like to say that we had two wonderfull Slovak trainers Tomaš and Soňa.

On the left is Ahmed from Egypt and on the right is Minna from Finland.

Here Soňa is explaining the rules of a energizer game.

Lydia from Germany is explaining what is her project about.

Gisele from Brasil.

Zdravka from Bulgaria.

Ahmed (Egypt), Edita (Lithuania), Karen (France).

From left: Elisabeth (Denmark), Minna (Finland), Carolin (Germany), Gergana (Bulgaria).

Anne (Germany), Edita (Lithuania), Karen (France), Ahmed (Egypt).

Marie (France).

Here we are in a very small, but nice tea house in Svaty Jur...

Where we've notest that Slovak girls can be really beautiful.

Sandrine (France), Gisele (Brasil) and Janis (Latvia).

Marie (France), Michel (France), Karen (France), Rebekka (Germany).

Janis in a very good company.

Rebekka, Edita, Oksana (Ukraine), Sandrine.

Marie, Michel, Minna, Rebekka.

Janis and a big pile of really bad smelling shoes!!! That's why I've put them all out. :) Some order must be! :)

And this is one of the demonstrations (a play) of different types of conflicts. Very useful exercise.

Here we are sitting in the train and we are travelling to Bratislava to have fun and discover the city. From left: typical scandinavian beauty :) named Elisabeth, typical Brasilian "Don Juan" Diogo and typical balkan beauty by the name Azra! :)))))

Very good company again.

Among us there were of course Tomaš (first on the left) and Sona (on the right).

One of our tasks once in Bratislava was to draw the national theater. This was Gergana's task. She did a very good job.

This picture is interesting because it was taken after the protest against destroying the park for making another shopping center. We've taken part of the protest and as Tomaš told us, the result was positive! In this year the park will stay where it is! YES! The yellow stuff that we are holding in our hands are the pieces of the very long tape which was all around the park. We all had to hold our hands and make a simbolic human chain around the park and in this way to protect it somehow. It was a really nice experience!!!

Then we wanted to practice Salsa! :)

Dinner time!

We had to draw ourselves. These are all the participants of the on-arrival meeting. And this is it when it comes to the on-arrival meeting. IT WAS GREEEEEEEAAAAAAAT!!!

After a few days Gergana came to Banska Štiavnica to meet us. It was a really nice surprise!!!

She was with her THREE Canadian friends John, Linda and their dog. We've accidentally met in the local tea house. They are really funny and nice! Then we went to our appartment where we spent the night.

Work, work, work!!!

Again a Slovak beauty. Janka from Nitra.

Then we moved to a new appartment which is really nice and better than the first one, but it was full of flyes. This is because it was empty for four months and the windows are pretty old. It was a big frustration, but we defeated them!!! Spray, spray, spray... :)

Another thing needed to be cleaned and sprayed: the Kofola fridge! We defeated the mauld.

We visited Oksana in Banska Bystrica which is a really a nice place to be! The old center is wonderful! We did some shopping there.

Then we've seen Zvolen. Also you can see the signs of autumn.
And this is it for now. The comments are really brief, but this is because we are very tired. Try to check this post again in a few days. Maybe we will write something more and maybe even add some more interesting pictures, for example of Bratislava.
Greetings from Banska Štiavnica.
